    CAMPING near OSLO

    by

Excellent choice for families and all than like outdoor activities.

Unique Quality: They rent reasonablly priced cabins durin summer or winter time. It is a great alternative to a hotel. I like this camp because you can stay here even if you don't traven with a caravan or carry a tent with you.

The smallest cabin has 25 square meter, but are used only during summertime. The largest cabins are 43 square m.

Directions: App. 10 km from Oslo at Bogstad Lake

    Bogstad Camp & Turistsenter

    by

Bogstad Camp & Turistsenter is situated 9 km from Oslo city centre. The campsite covers about 40 acres (16 hectares) with Nordmarka (a wilderness area) and Bogstad Lake as its nearest neighbors, providing unlimited outdoor activities. The campsite is owned by the Norwegian Automobile Federation, which is connected to the Alliance of International Tourism. Bogstad Camp & Turistsenter is also a member of PlusCamp, a chain of quality campsites throughout Norway.

Bogstad is the largest campsite in Norway. At the campsite there is space for 1000 camping units, 210 of which are caravan spaces connected to electricity. Of 36 cabins (for four persons), 16 have showers, toilets and color TV. There are 2 sanitary buildings with showers and toilets, one of which is open all year. All of the cabins are winter insulated, heated and fully equipped for both summer and winter use.

Unique Quality: One of the cheapest accomodations in the Oslo area that has reasonably good sanitary conditions included. Check the webcam for an overview:

    Camping

    by

Oslo has some campgrounds where you can camp out and some of them also have cabins or caravans for rent. But there is a lot of forest around Oslo where you can go camping instead. You can camp for free almost anywhere in the forest, but you can't stay too close to another property. When you camp in the forest you don't have the facilities like toilet, shower and so on, that you find on the campgrounds. But at least it's free...

If you prefer a campground you can check out some of these:

    Bogstad Camp and Tourist Centre
Located by the Bogstad lake and very popular.
    Tel: (+47) 22 51 08 00
    E-mail: mail@bogstadcamping.no

    Ekeberg Camping
Located on a hill with a great view of Oslo. Short distance to the city.
    Tel: (+47) 22 19 85 68
    E-mail: mail@ekebergcamping.no

    Langøyene Camping
A beautiful island in the fjord - and you can camp for free! Toilet and showers are also for free!
    Tel: (+47) 22 36 37 98

    Trollvasshytta Turistsenter
Located at Lillevann in the outskirts of the city, but surrounded by beautiful nature and close to the metrostation.
    Tel: (+47) 22 14 95 39

    Oslo Fjord Camping
Situated on the coast near the fjord, and close to the beach in Hvervenbukta which is a very popular place in summer. They also have caravans for rent.

Cheapest in Oslo - huts and camping

    by

I live a short walk away, so I check on the place often by defaulit on the way to my favourite bathing lake....
The only real camping ground in Oslo, it's a bit outside the city centre. Using a bus to get to and from the city centre (or the metro from Roa plus taxi or walk 15 minutes), it remains the best option of travellers with a car, camper, carawan, wohnmobile, tent or on a budget, renting a small hut.
Definitely the cheapest in Oslo, with 4-person huts for less than NOK 100 per person. They have 46 huts in varying price categories. There is a shop and small restaurant connected to the campground complex.

Unique Quality: 5 minutes to Norway's best golf course.
10 minutes to a lake with a public bathing beach.
Hiking opportunities a short distance away - this place is located at the edge of Oslo.
    Bus to the city centre.

Directions: To the northwestern edge of Oslo, near Bogstadvannet lake, metro/subway stop Roa, bus No.....
