Oslo Budget Hotel

We (a group of 8 people) spent a weekend in Oslo and stayed at Coch's Pensjonat which turned out to be a very nice place, pretty much in the centre of Oslo. The hotel can easily be reached by tram or bus (from the main station, for example). Trams Nr. 17 & 18 -> stop Högskolen/ Dalsbergsstien.
Coch's seems to be one of the cheapest possibilities to stay in Oslo and still the place was very clean and well attended. The (standard) 4-bed rooms we had were quite big and equipped with a TV, fridge and other kitchen facilities.

Unique Quality: Close to Slottsparken and city centre. Many shops & cafés and a couple of pubs within easy walking distance. There also is a supermarket (Kiwi) close by.
Nice breakfast will be served at a nearby place called KafeCaffé.
Suitable also for group travels (3- and 4-bed rooms available).
Different categories of rooms, for example: Best Room Twin around 130 $, Standard Room Twin around 120 $, Value Room Twin around 100 $.

Preferred afordable choice

This is probably the preferred place to stay for anyone who is price conscious but still wants a clean, seperate room with it's own shower and tv. Professional and serviceminded owners and staff. In the middle of Oslo - near to everything. Amongst other the royal castle, many nightclubs, the two biggest shopping streets namely Bogstadveien and Karl Johans Gate, and many other things and places.

Unique Quality: Value for money, location and nice staff.

Cochs Pensjonat

This hotel is in the middle of the city, and close to everything. It's located at the corner of the park surrounding the Royal Castle, and the area is very nice. You are just a short walk from the Castle, Bogstadveien shoppingstreet, Aker Brygge, Akershus fortress, the City Hall, Karl Johansgate and so on. There are also lots of public transportation nearby if you need that.

Most of the rooms have a small kitchen, toilet and shower; some also have balconies. There is a breakfast buffet at a café nearby, and it costs 50,- NOK. Around the hotel are also lots of other cafés, restaurants and pubs - plus some of the most popular nightlife in Oslo.

Prices pr room pr night (in NOK):
Single room; 390,- to 530,-
Double room; 540,- to 700,-
3 beds; 675,- to 855,-
4 beds; 820,- to 940,-

Cochs Pensionat

We paid NOK 660,- for a double room with bath, one night. No breakfast though.

Unique Quality: A brilliant and reasonable place to stay when in Oslo. No meals, but plenty of places to eat nearby.
