Great Ship

This is a great choice for those who want a chilled alternative to the usual hotel experience. This ship is more hostel than hotel although cabins do have their own bathroom. If your looking for extras TV etc. this is not for you. Cafe serves food and alcohol at reasonable prices. Room price includes a help yourself breakfast that was great. Nice views over the water.

Being on the dock side and so close to the city the area does attract Oslos drug addicts who can be seen injecting heroin most days. As a consequence you also need to watch out for discarded syringes when walking arouund the area. More sad than threatening we experienced no problems from these people.

Unique Quality: On board theatre that is used as a music venue. The musicians are of a good standard covering a range of styles including world music. Residents get in for free.
Friendly staff and a great chef!

Oslo's best winter budget accomodation

The Innvik is a small ship anchored just opposite the Oslo Central Station, just 5 minutes walk from the first bars and clubs. Its main activity is theater, but also provides a Bed & Breakfast.
The cabins are quite small and can sleep 2 to 3 people. Most of them have their ensuite bathroom. The cabins in the Lower level have shared facilities. It is opened 24 hours, and the staff is most helpful and friendly.
Prices range from 200 NOK (lower level cabin) to 350/600 NOk (single/double rooms).

Unique Quality: The rooms at the upper level offer great views on the sea.
There is a cafe on the boat which offered an African Music performance on the week-end of my stay.
