Hotel room shortage, BOOK EARLY!
by SailorRoar
There is a general shortage of hotel rooms on Oslo, so if you call a travelers agent and they tell you that everything is full, then they are probably right. So the only thing you can do about it is: BOOK EARLY! Even other cities around Oslo tends to get booked out due to this problem, I have heard of people who had to go all the way to Lillehammer (just so you know Lillehammer is 2 and a half hour away by car or train) to get a room, and that was when they tried to book one week ahead.
Just enjoy Oslo!

Norway is really differ from my homeland, I haven't cultural shock, but have been suprised by Oslo's modern and old part. I haven't seen so much new-build scyscrapers before, as I haven't seen really old buildings, dated from 13th century and older.
My reccomendations - just enjoy Oslo walking through the streets, museums, churches, seeing panoramas and communicating with Scandinavians and so on. I have to say, I really memorised my snowboarding near Oslo fjord, as it was so funny and fast! :)
Take a walk by Karl Johan...

Take a walk by Karl Johan Street!
It's really funny specially if weather is sunny.
In the evening nice clubs are available for your enjoyment! Oh... I can still remember the ship where I took a great beer with Pedro and Cris, a friends of Zaragoza that we made during this trip
National Theatre

Buildings like this are rare in other parts of Norway but very common in the rest of Europe. Doesnt mean that this isnt a wonderfull building to look at! I dont i have seen a city so far where a lot of major buildings are standing so close to each other. You can see the palace, the theatre and the parliament building almost at once.
You must remember to view...

You must remember to view every new place with open eyes! And an open mind! I am esp., happy that I am able to bring my daughter with me on every travel adventure I have! It wouldn't be the same without her!
