Any hiking/walking suggestions for five day trip to Haugesund
by karla310
We are two people going over to Haugesund for five days (Thurs to Tues) and are looking for some ideas/suggestions for hiking/walking in the area. We have booked accommodation in the city but are willing to stay on route if we can figure out a multiple day hike. Would anyone be able to recommend any hikes (1-3 days) and be able to tell us if transport to hiking/walking areas is accessible?
Thanks
KD

one great hike is to the pulpit rock outside stavanger, take the bus to stavanger for a conection to preikestole (pulpit rock) maybe stay the night and do the hick in the morning or get up really early and do a day trip.
another is going to Etne mountain, a 45 min buss ride from haugesund
smaller hikes are possible in many direction from Haugesund

flytten boats goes between the island and the town in the old days, and now in the summertime. In the old days men brought people over to the island in their rowing boats on of them was a man called Ola Flytt (Ola J. Dagsland) , he worked from 1876 to 1906. There is also a local song about him. Here u see one of the boats with a motor in use from 1915 to 1979)
