Kronen Gaard Hotell: Historical hotel

Kronen Gaard Hotell is a member of "The Historical Hotels". The oldest building is from 1898. I attended a course at Kronen Gaard and spent one night in the hotel. Although only 10 minutes from downtown Sandnes, it is totally in the countryside, it is situated in a green, rural area. Communications are ok, there is a bus stop less than 100 meters from the hotel entrance with bus departures every half hour. My room was on the ground floor and towards the road, but I was not bothered by any noice from traffic. My room wasn't big, but what do you really need when all you do there is sleep? There was no minibar in the room, but I never buy anything from minibars anyway :-)

Havanna Badeland (an indoor bathing comples of 7000 square meters spread over 5 levels) is appr. 5 minutes away by car, and Kongeparken (amusement park / theme park) appr. 12 minutes away.

There is no need for me to write a lot about the hotel, since they have a very informative english (and german and norwegian) website themselves.

Unique Quality: They have managed to restore the buildings in a respectful way with regard to original architecture and traditions and at the same time create a hotel with all necessary facilities.
