StavangerPark - Holiday Apartment: Holiday Apartment by the park

A Holiday Apartment in the 3rd floor of a typical Stavanger house. The apartment, which is just across a quiet cobblestone street from the city park, is perfect for a family or group of friends. It has one bedroom with two beds, one bed on a sleeping gallery and a double sleeping sofa. Fully equipped with washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, TV, DVD etc.
Very nice accommodation.

Close to train station, bus terminal and city centre. Cheap, clean and quiet.

The old stable: In old Stavanger

This is a small house in old Stavanger. It was originally the stable of the Villa Blindensol, which is one of the oldest houses in Stavanger. I have never stayed her, as I live in Stavanger, but I walk past it all the time. It looks really cosy and the atmosphere of the area is special. They rent it out both for daily and weekly hire.

History and atmosphere.

Preikestolen Camping: Campsite close to Preikestolen

This is where we stayed when we took our hike to Preikestolen, and this is where we adopted Elge, our moose :-)

Going to Preikestolen is only one of the things you can do while staying here. Check out their website to see the rest, or check this site

Preikestolhytta: Starting point for hiking in the Preikestol area

If you stay here a couple of nights, you can use it as a base for hiking not only to the Pulpit Rock, but to a lot of other places as well. All necessary information in english and german on their website.

The restaurant is open for everybody, not only their own guests, from 12 - 21, and serves traditional norwegian food.

Smarthotel: A smart hotel

This hotel represents a new concept: you book on the net, you pick up your key in the reception from a machine and you don't really have to check out in the way you normally do. The hotel will run on a minimum staff to keep the cost down and compared to Norwegian standard this is a pretty cheap hotel (about 500 Norwegian kroner, 70 US dollar).

The hotel is located at Forus (actually it is located in Stavanger neighbour county Sandnes) so it is close to major oil compaines like Statoil, Hydro, BP and so on. But it is also fairly easy to take a bus to get into Stavanger (it is about 12 km into town). It is also located close to one of Norway's biggest malls Kvadrat.

To keep the cost down there is not many extra facilities here. I guess this is a hotel that you get if you just want a cheap stay or if your are just in this area to work. They do have Smart cars for hire so you can get around in those...I really think these cars are cool :-)

We spent one night in the 'Radisson SAS Globetrotte Hotel' in Stavanger. It's close to the city centre and only 15 min drive from Stavanger Airport Sola.
