Victoria is situated by the bay in downtown Stavanger. Tollboden, the old customs building from 1905 which now contains restaurant, bar, conference and performance facilities, is right across the street, and so is mooring for the sightseeing and restaurant boats (pic 5)
I have "always" wanted to stay in Victoria. But since I live in Stavanger, I did not get the chance until recently, when I attended a course there. This hotel has a soul! It was originally a four story building, built in 1900 of norwegian and danish bricks. It was the first building in Stavanger with an electrical elevator and central heating. A fifth floor was added in 1975, and with later additions the hotel now has 107 rooms. During the last renovation yellow bricks from Holland was used. All rooms are renovated during the last years, and they are all different.
