Hi I am looking to leave Trondheim 26th August for Roros. I cannot seem to get info from Nor-Way bus website. The train leaves too early. Can anyone help with the bus timetable?

Travel Tips for Trondheim

The most wonderful thing is...

by tierneyli

The most wonderful thing is skiing around moutain area,
you can go there by free bus in the morning, it will
take you to the top of hill then you can ski across
country. Take some lunch by yourself and take a break
in the cabin amongst mountains. You can also spend a whole weekend on the top of the
hill, there is a big cabin which can offer a big party
for 100 persons.

Visit the Kristansten...

by Jimmytravel

Visit the Kristansten Fortress! It was built the year after the city fire,in 1682.
The only time the fortress has been in battle, was in 1718. King Karl XII of Sweden attacked Norway, and his army tried to seize Trondheim. Because of the fortress they failed. The soldiers retreated back to Sweden, and on the way over the mountains in January 1719 around 2200 Swedish soldiers froze to death. Some 5-600 died later of related injuries.

Mailboxes

by diocletianvs

As everywhere in Norway also in Trondheim you’ll find those funny groups of mailboxes along the major streets. It seems that Norwegian postmen are somewhat lazy so the Post office requires neighbours to agree and make a group of mailboxes instead of installing individual mailboxes in front of each house.
This is one of the smaller examples, and some designs of those small “mail houses” are very innovative, as well as the decorations of individual mailboxes that often have children drawings in order to be distinguished from other neighbours.

Packing List

by Jimmytravel

Firstly, the weather in Trondheim is like a woman's mind; changing all the time! This means bring all kinds,'cause all 4 seasons may come in the same day. This picture of the Monks Island can be either from spring, summer, fall or winter...

the submarine-bunkers of WW II

by globetrott

The former submarine-bunkers of WW II, built by the german army are used nowadays as the basement of a shoppingcentre and in fact there is not a lot of them to see anymore from outside except the basement and I am glad that we passed by them on our bustour by Hurtigruten to Ringve-museum and the tourguide explained to us a bit about it.
In official booklets by the tourist-info you will not find any infos about it and they are also not marked on the map.
