Basic and of the beaten track
As per the hotels site says, it does exactly what it says on the tin! My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights 2nd February 2013.
Our purpose was trip and catch a glimpse of the Elusive Lady Aurora, and staying in this location where the sydspissen is based is actually perfect for it. It is close to a beach and a park.
the hotel is very basic by my own standards (here in Ireland) but I find this with a lot of European accommodations when I travel, But, that's not too much a worry as when you are in Tromso you do not sleep much. especially If you are a bit of an Aurora Addict like me.
Would I stay here again, yes! it's a bit of a hike to the main centre of Tromso but sure we all need our exercise ;-)
Unique Quality: Canteen area to hang out while waiting for the Aurora to show herself. Balcony area with door to canteen so you can run in and out looking and checking. (be careful of the snow)
Free tea n coffee - help yourself ;-)
Scenery around is lovely
Price was 97€ per night for the two of us and we stayed 3 nights
lovely trails through the back of the hotel
just off the main rd
bus service stop outside the hotel
Amenities at Sydspissen
- Pets Allowed
