I stayed two nights here with some family and friends of family, we crammed 6 persons into a camping hut. Selfcatering, a kitchenette, living room, shower/washroom/toilet, 2 bed rooms. A good verandha for balmy evenings. I quite enjoyed it - would have been even better if the weather had been nice! I will be happy to come here again. We used it as a staging point for visiting the Dyreparken leisure park on the other side of Kristiansand and for visits to the vicinity.
The place has mixed acommodation: flats, camping huts in different sizes, caravan and mobile home places, tent sites. All is serviced by a single service booth at the main gate. The place is located right on a very nice sandy bay that is accessible to the general public as well. A service building has a minimart, kiosk with simple street food options and a pub. Apart from pizza at the kiosk, you have to go out of the area to get a proper meal unless you want to cook yourselves. There are Chinese, Thai, burgers etc., Italian, a bakery and a very good Norwegian sea food restaurant in the vicinity (short drive or 2 km walk to Søgne centre).
The beach is very nice. However, it is supplemented with a large seawater pool, albeit heated, to extend the bathing season.
