I love this hotel! I spent two nights here attending a course for educators like myself. we had our meetings at Magasinet Cafe and ate breakfast and evening meals here.
the hotel is located only 5 minutes from the Trainstation, or by bus from Sandefjord airport Torp.
the hotel itself is contructed like a historical museum, with interior from the early 1900 century. it's also very close to shops, the whale museum and the harbour.
I only ate breakfast and evening meal (6-9 pm), with sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and all I needed for a good breakfast, and I'm a fuzzy eater.
Directions: from the train: follow the road jernbanealleen down the hill, and then you're there.
The Hotel Atlantic was built nearly 100 years ago, when the whaling industry was the mainstay of the town's economy. The public areas of the hotel are like a museum, with models and photos of the industry in its heyday. Nowadays, the hotel caters for young executives tapping away at their laptops. More in keeping with his age, old Cliffie propped up the bar. One delightful feature of the hotel is the complimentary buffet dinner which is included in the room rate.
