Sandefjord Guesthouse: Cheap accomodation in beautiful surroundings
I've now visited this guesthouse twice on my trips throughout Norway and thought they deserved to be mentioned here on this forum. This is definitely the cheapest accomodation I have managed to find in the town of Sandefjord, although both centrally located and very welcoming. The friendly english host picked me up at the airport and whereas first time I chose to stay at their "backpacker-room" (which was in a really cosy cottage-like building in the garden with a shared bathroom) I this year chose to spend an extra 100 NOK on the room and basically got access to a big, high-standard house all on my own, with absolutely all facilities. A big sun-terrace, living-room, a large self-catering kitchen, private bathroom and a quiet and very clean bedroom.
Unique Quality: The guesthouse is located near a wonderful park with a lake and many view-points of the fjord, only 8 minutes walk downtown.
Barbecue-options in garden are well worth using on a sunny day:-)
Cycle-hire available on spot so you can get easy access to the surrounding nature areas, including many attractive beaches.

if you're just looking for a bed /or two and don't need a big hotel room or televison this could be just enough. It's narrow, you don't really have much space. But you'll have a bunk bed bathroom, a little refrigerator, cutlery a little table to eat (breakfast is not included), some books about Sandefjord and a tourist guide.
it's located in the centre of Sandefjord with only then minutes walk to the railway station and the Whale museum nearby.
Unique Quality: Prices: 250 (outside the season), otherwise 300.
to persons 450 each night.
You can use the outdoors facilities like the barbeque and have a party, and the dishes will be done by Lisbeth.
you can order bike for 100 NK each day.

Lisbets gjestehus: Try a private guesthouse
A cosy accomodation on a private basis,
situated in the old, picturesque wooden area of the town. The white wooden buildings makes a characteristic trait of Sandefjord town, and is today a protected area.
Unique Quality: The charm of staying in one of the old, white wooden buildings. The accomodation is central, still it's advisable to take a taxi from the train station if you have luggage to carry.
