Ben-UK's Bielsko-Biala page
I've only been to Bielsko-Biala a couple of times but I've really enjoyed the visits -- to me the city has a nice feel to it and I enjoyed wandering around the streets.
Gateway to the beautiful Beskid mountain range, it was originally two separate cities astride the River Biala, but Bielsko and Biala were united in 1951.
Its roots are in the textile industry and as I'm a native of northern England, perhaps that's why I like the place -- the atmosphere and the architecture are similar in some ways to what I've been used to over the years in Manchester and surrounding areas.
I first went to Bielsko-Biala on a day trip from Katowice in 2000 and then went again with Polish friends in May 2005 -- it was good to go back.

This little shop has my name on it....a good omen
