The Hotel Royal in Krakow by Paul2001 The Hotel Royal is a very well situated hotel on the southern edge of Krakow Stare Miasto. Even better it is just across the street from one of Poland leading attractions, the Wawel Hill and its castle. The hotel has all the conviencences that you could ask for including a good restaurant and a nice bar. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel had a nice old world atmosphere probably no doubt because it is more than one hundred years old. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Kraków, ul. Św. Gertrudy 26-29Phone: (22) 4 233 233

The Hotel Cytadela in Warsaw by Paul2001 The Hotel Cytadela was a decent alternative hotel for me in Warsaw. I call it so because the hotel of my first choice was booked up and the booking agency recommended this one instead. I had a couple of small problems with the hotel but overall it was a decent place to stay as it was fairly close to the Stare Maisto and public transit. On the downside I found the hotel's walls to be rather thin. So much so I could here conversations in the other rooms. There are also no restauarants or nightlife nearby.
The hotel had a surprisingly good restaurant and lively bar. This is probably because it is across the road from an army officer training school. The hotel got its name from an old fortress that once stood where the school is. Passing by another Hotel !! by GrantBoone Although our trip to Jelenia Gora did not involve an overnight stay , we found there to be plenty of hotels available if it had been needed. The great thing about hotels in Poland is you get comfort and a great welcome along with value for money. Theme: Hotel

Hotel Polon Orbis. by GrantBoone A great place to stay, we were lucky because we stopped at the first hotel we saw in Zielona Gora. Really comfortable rooms , lovely evening meal with beer ( just what was needed after a 7 hour journey!) and incredibly cheap!!
Just so comfortable and inexpensive! Theme: HotelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Zielona Gora.Directions: Centre of town.

The lift by Sharrie I was in Westin Warsaw only for a night. Robert suggested Bristol but for Euro 220+, I'm not that crazy about it. It's about half price if it's the weekend. Westin is part of the Starwood stable. Since I regularly stay in Sheraton, I've accumulated quite a bit of points & found out that the rates per night is not bad either - Euro 123 + tax. With further promotional benefits on SPG.com, I realised I just have to pay US$45 + tax for a night stay (after 2800 points redemption). So, I chose to stay here instead.
An almost brand new 5* hotel in Warsaw. The staff told me it's less than a year old! Nice modern business design & pretty much secured with safe box in room & all. Card access with the lift. So, I felt pretty much secured here. It's pretty safe in Poland generally, but where hotels are concerned, I don't usually take chances. As my stay was very short, just a couple of hours, I didn't explore any facility here. It's not too far from the old city, just a few minutes rides by taxis. It's very close to the railway station. Cost about PLN 12-15 for a taxi ride which is approximately US$3.50. All in all, I like the feel of the hotel & won't mind returning again. Oh, it has very nice bathroom. Reasonably large & has both a shower cubicle & a bathtub. But I was upgraded to a deluxe room (f.o.c.) so am not sure if its the same with all other rooms

Sieniawa is a small town situated in South-Eastern Poland far away from tourist routes; stay there if you want to rest well. To reach Sieniawa you should drive along road from Przemysl to Lublin via Jaroslaw and Bilgoraj-it's a side road so it's not overcrowded with the drivers in rush!
The palace is situated in a big and well maintained park, there's also a free tennis court available.

Well I was not expecting much and I did not get much. My stay here was quite simply bland at best and neglective at worse. Nobody made up my room when I went out for the day. The hotel rooms furniture was rather non-discript. The whole hotel seemed rather indifferent in character. Also no one spoke English here as it was a bit off the beaten path.
I actually decided upon this hotel because of it proximity to the bus station which is about 300m away. It is also reasonably close to the Stare Maestro of Lublin. a look at part of the campsite by kolabor OK, you got me! :P I was never there. But I would love to go next year. And contrary to what you may think I know quite a lot about this place... The campsite (propably largest in Europe) is open for a few days in the year only, for the Przystanek Woodstock festival. Conditions you will find are... a bit lower than the European standard :P. But it's free. To get a good place you have to come here a few days before the festival. I haven't been there, because it's very far from my home town. But place is worth visiting even considering the conditions... (check other Woodstock tips).
Well, facilities-plastic toilets, open-air showers, but a good gastronomic infrastructure, with basic, but good and very cheap food -according to many reviews- and beer (€0,5). Also you may find (this year there were) places like the "Peaceful Village of Krishna" (they also give out different meals), "Peace Patrol Oasis", climbing wall, open-air cinema, internet cafe, medical treatment, post office and others. For interested- mud pool :) is always created near the showers. AND A VERY IMPORTANT THING! THE PLACE IS ABLE TO TAKE UP TO 500,000 PEOPLE IF NOT MORE (last year 250,000-300,000, two years ago 400,000) AND STILL IT'S VERY SAFE! POLICE HAVE NOTED VERY FEW INCIDENTS. Just as the festival says: "Stop to violence, stop to drugs, just love, friendship and rock'n'roll!"

The Gromada Hotel by Paul2001 To be honest this was not my first choice in the hotels I checked out in Zakopane. All the others were fully booked(it was a weekend) and in the Gromada, I could only get a single room without an ensuite shower in here. Still what I got was not unpleasant. The room was a reasonable size and clean. The common shower down the hall was well maintained. On the downside might be the fact that the hotel was rather characterless in terms of architecture although the restaurant/breakfast room attempted a folksy look.
The hotel had an acceptable restaurant where there was a band in regional costumes playing local folk music. I also liked the bar which was a fine place to relax after a grueling hike. The hotel is located close to many restaurants and cafes which was great because it rained alot while I was here. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: ul. SLEEPING WELL IN RURAL POLAND It may not always be easy to find a good accomodation in a very rural area. But it does not mean that you have to rely on your tent ;-) It is much easier in the summer - there are many campings that offer also bungalows, summer youth hostels are opened even in some small villages at schools. Of course the standard is not high, but price may be unbelievably low. For those, who prefer more civilized ways of spending nights many roadside inns recently opened. They are competing with small hotels in small towns - remainers of 19th century style of travel. If you plan a longer stay there is usually a choice of various types of pensions - really many in more often visited area. Almost every farm there offers 'rooms for visitors', but so-called agrotourism becomes popular in other regions, too. People realize that tourism can give them more profits then other activity pretty quickly and I am often surprised seeing offers of 'nightstays' ('noclegi' in Polish) on railways depots, schools or monasteries USEFUL LINKS: POLISH YOUTH HOSTELS ASSOCIATION - a site with a list of all year open hostels PTTK - index of hotels and hostels of the PTTK (Polish tourist society) - in Polish Theme: OtherComparison: least expensive
