Pensjonat Monika: Clean, Modern Accomodation

The pension appears to have been built quite recently. The owner has their own house / vets practice nextdoor so they're on hand should you need to contact them. The street that it is located on leads onto the main square - a walk of about 300m. It is possible to order meals but as Kev & Beata knew where to buy a decent breakfast locally then we didn't bother.

It has its own parking area for guests.

Unique Quality: The room have a small bathroom with shower (no bath) and WC. Our room was a resonable size with plenty of staorage space. We had a small French door that opened out onto the garden and gave a view of the aurrounding woodland area. All rooms had a radio, CD player and a TV.

Unlike some pensions / hotels in the area, they will accept bookings for only 1 night. Prices start from 35zl.

Local Campground: A Cheap Version

The campground is located adjacent to the river promenade, very close to the very center of Kazimierz. You can park your caravan here or rent some space for your tent. I don't know whether the campground offers some special facilities - well actually I don't think it does. But it is conveniently placed and inexpensive.

Tent: The Cheapest Version

Of course you can use the local campground but if you are really short of funds you can try and install your tent on the grass close to the river promenade. Remember: it's illegal so you need to be brave ;-)

'Dom Turysty' PTTK: Tourist House Part 2

As the hotel complex consists of two houses I decided to post a separate note on each of them. In this picture you can see the 'Murka' house. It is located a little bit closer to the center of Kazimierz than the 'Spichlerz' house.

'Dom Turysty' PTTK: Tourist House

The hotel is ran by Polish Tourist Country Lovers' Society. It actually consists of two houses: 'Murka' and 'Spichlerz' providing fair but not luxury accomodation for up to 80 persons in single, double and triple rooms with bath, tv and phone.

Unique Quality: Restaurant with a 60 square meter terrace, cafe with a 30 square meter summer terrace, conference rooms with multimedia equipment, sauna, solarium, parking lot etc.

SARP - Architecturers' House: 45 Years Of Polish Tradition

This is one of the best known and the eldest hotels in Kazimierz. It boasts 45 years of the best tradition of Polish hospitality.

I only stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights some time ago but I liked it. It was not really expensive or luxury but cleand and neat.

Unique Quality: - 2 apartments - 4 beds,
- 5 studios - 18 beds,
- 18 double rooms - 36 beds,
- 10 triple rooms - 30 beds,
- 2 quadruple - 8 beds,
- 12 beds of simplified standard in garden house
- central location,
- 3 conference rooms,
- traditional Polish cuisine,
- diet and vegetarian dishes,
- drink bar,
- parking lot,
- animals allowed,
- satellite tv,
- patio with fountain and garden.

Local is best

We always try and find a room for rent in a private house when we visit Kazimierz. It's best done in advance in the busier summer months (a number cna be found froma Tourist Information centre), but off-season you can just turn up, have a scout around, and then simply check in somewhere that looks attractive. We found a great place up on the hill behind the castle - the only drawback being the climb up the cobbles to bed after an evening of wining and dining.

Osrodek Wypoczynkowy "Albrechtowka": Kazimierz Dolny. Hotels, Pensions, Guesthouses

Unique Quality: Albrechtowka is situated beyond Kazimierz. Large gardens, grill and beautifull places to trips with wonderful views on Vistula river.
