Hotel VIP: For budget visitors who love nature

Well, it's definetely not a place for any VIPs :-). I would recommend this hotel especially for those travellers who:
- are a bit adventerous and love to discover off the beaten paths
- are on a low budget
- love nature, peace and quiet (lakes, forests)
- like water activities (windsurfing, canoeing, sailing)
- want to visit Gdansk and either have a car or accept bus trips
- can speak Polish or can't speak Polish but can use body language perfectly.

I personally doubt whether they ever accomodated any foreign visitor. You may be the first one!

My first impression of the place was bad because of the neglected and bumpy road made of cement slabs. But then I saw a pretty, lonely lake with boats and yachts on and clean hotel building with an office upstairs. The door was closed. But, in a second, a smiling guy came to welcome us. We asked for a room downstairs. All rooms looked similar but some had an unpleasant smell after previous guests, heavy smokers probably. When we had chosen the one without that smell, a cleaning lady broght us bedclothes. They were washed out but looked like they had been used for tenths years, overused and almost torn. We asked for newer bedclothes and we got them. Soon later the guy from the office came to say sorry for those bedclothes and tp ask us whether all was OK.

ROOM
Nothing special. Just a simple room to sleep. Although it was quite roomy place with a very small shower and toilet. Add small TV-set and radio. I didn't like the design of my room. No telephone in room. No air-condition and a room may warm up during the day.

RESTAURANT
There is a restaurant upstairs with a terrace overlooking the lake. They serve some local dishes and many kinds of alcoholic beverages (vodka and beer), all at very reasonable price. Once I had a supper there (meat) and it was not bad.

Unique Quality: SETTING
Hotel is lovely located by Kolbudy Lake. I was amazed looking at the lake, boats and yachts at sunset.

PEACE AND QUITE
There are not many visitors there. The place is relaxing and empty. Maybe two rooms were occupied. However a school group of youths came in the last night. Although a few boys drank too much alcohol they were not very noicy and didn't disturb us.

PRICE
I was most satisfied about the price for my room for two. I paid 80 zl (20 euros) per room for two and 20 zl (5 euros) for breakfast for 2.

BREAKFAST
I liked their breakfasts which were simple but good and made me full for most of the day. They asked us what to cook/prepare for the next breakfast everyday. They take care a lot of their customers.

SERVICE AND FRIENDLINESS
Their approch for guests is very friendly. They asked me many times whether I want/need something. They would be even more hospitable to their first foreign visitor, I am sure. Although I doubt whether whoever can speak fluently any foreign language there. Maybe they speak Kasubian but it isn't a foreign language at this place.

RENTALS
You may rent a bicycle, sailboard, boat or kayak. The prices are low.
