Staying in a Castle

The Staff were very friendly and most spoke English. The hotel is in the grounds of the beautiful Castle set on the river-bank in Malbork. The rooms are clean and slightly 70's but this suited the building and gave it character. The hotel restaurant was excellent on portion size, cost and quality of food. You are also served breakfast in the restaurant. You could choose from a menu as well as the usual bread, cured meats and cheese. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. Also the castle is amazing!!

In medieval castle!

Don't expect much natural light inside rooms - windows are old and very small :-))). Hmm... no candles inside (why?, risk of fires?) only electric light.

Unique Quality: Prices summer 2003:
single - 230 PLN,
double - 300 PLN,
suite - 600 PLN.

1 Euro = approx. 4.3 PLN

In a medieval fortress!

"Zamek" means castle in Polish language. And Hotel Zamek is really located in medieval interiors of the Lower Castle. It's inside the historic building of the former Teutonic hospital for lansquenets.

There are 82 places of accommodation in total 42 rooms (10 with bathtubs, 32 with showers, all with bidets). In each room there is a telephone and SAT TV. Don't expect much natural light inside rooms - windows are old and very small :-))). Hmm... no candles inside (why?, risk of fires?) only electric light.
.

Unique Quality: Hmm... it's not a luxury hotel - 3-star. Maybe it should have two hehe: no pool, no additional facilities, just a hotel and 3 restaurants but it looks clean and quite comfortable with roomy rooms (as for Europe :-) and location, location, location.

The Zamek Hotel houses 3 restaurants and 1 cafe, where 300 people can be catered for.

In summer (July - August) and in weekends reservation recommended.
