Schronisko PTTK W. Pol w Roztoce: On the Road to/from Morskie Oko

Half way between the Polana Palenica Bus Stop and Morskie Oko is this shelter. Two storeys, 77 places, double, quad, and common occupencies. Food Is Delicious!
Postcards and free boiled water. Payphone and first aid.

Definitely not a tourist spot crowded with school kids- if you can, stay here and explore the area.

Hot Water only at limited times.

Schronisko PTTK St. Staszica przy Morskim Oku: Book it Early - it's worth it

Well, After the 10km hike with my pack, my first advice is to LEAVE ALL UNNECCESSARY ITEMS IN A BAGGAGE CHECK AT THE BUS STATION IN ZAKOPANE !
Make reservations in advance. When I got there, and this is early in the season (May) the lady laughed at me when I asked for two nights. I was only able to stay for one. The accomodation in wonderful. My room (with two bunk beds) was always warm and had a balcony with a view out over the Lake.

Pack warm - it gets cold in the evenings.

Bathroom/Shower accomodation clean and modern, though I only noticed one up stairs.

There are tow types of accomodation: in the large building in nice beds with fresh sheets, and a drafty cabin with cots.

Very cozy and open atmosphere.
However, this place gets swamped unbeleivable by classes of children and tourists. I was shocked at the multitudes of "govniazy". It can be noisy and crowded on a busy day, but evenings and mornings are priceless.

Good food, also souvenirs and a letter box.
