POZNAN -POLAND
"POZNAN A BEAUTIFULL CITY."
I had the opportunity to visit Poznan during the end of September during an internation agricultural food and drink fair...POLAGRA FOOD FAIR 2005.
I was amazed by the friendly ,polite and beautifull people of Poznan.
Poznan is a big enough city with almost 1.000.000 people.
The center of the town keeps the old style architecture with very charming gothic old bulding and a romantic atmoshaire spread around.
"RYNEK" is the name of the old central square , where is the meeting point for people.
Surounded by colorfull old buldings included the old CLOCK with the characteristic wild GOATS (POZNANS TRADE MARK) that show to hit each others head every noon at 12:00 o'clock.
Hundrents of people watch the amuzing goats show every day.
Around the Square you will find numerous bars and cafes and restaurants for all tastes.
TIP........Try original Polish tastes in one MILKBAR!!
"Places to visit in Poznan."
You can wonder around the beautiful city and discover the nice sightseeing , the gardens and the monuments since the events of 1957.
Puplic tranportation is good enough. I founf taxi tarifs and rates a little expensive and ....unexpected. You never know how much you will pay.
Anyway try to walk!!!
It is very interesting to discover the city by your own.
I walked from center to........ MALTA LAKE!!!
IT IS VERY NICE THERE.
As you look in the map it is on the east of the city.
There are many things you can do there like skiing ,(NOT WITH SNOW FOR THE SUMMER BUT WITH SOME BRUSHES!!) , canoing ,sailing cycling e.t.c
Fantastic for a long walk by the water.
There is also a mini train traveling only around the lake.
Also an animal Zoo available.
