Hi Carol,
Sopot is such a charming place but to be honest, the only street where I personally wouldn’t like to stay, is Aleja Niepodleglosci and this is exactly the place where Hotel Europe is located. It’s a main road from Gdansk to Gdynia, but not a shopping street at all, just loads of cars passing by, I do hope this hotel has a good isolation:( don’t want to spoil your feeling but in my opinion this is a business hotel(just for a night or two)
You can reach all places of interest by foot, to the Monte Casino (the famous car-free street) it will take 10-12 min, to the beach about 20-25 min( or little more, depends on your speed)…to catch local train to Gdansk/Gdynia about 10 min…
Hope it helps,
Best regards,
Bozena

I agree with Bozena- loads of cars from early morning to late evening rushing by your windows at Europa Hotel. Why don't you try Villa Sedan www.sedan.pl ? Cosy, well located and charming!
Have a nice time in Sopot!
Travel Tips for Sopot
Sopot architecture
by gosiaPL
Being an old seaside resort, Sopot has lots of nice houses and old villas. Peek into the side streets as you walk along the Monciak, and look up for some architectural details. You'll see some cute additions like the one in the picture. We call them "fillings", just like in a tooth. Sopot has quite a few of these. On my last short visit I didn't have the time to go to the area of Sopot farther away from the beach. That's where the nice old villas are, good idea to stroll that way.
Monciak
by ZiOOlek
Monciak is probably the most famous promenade in Poland. The name of the street is Bohaterow Monte Cassino (Monte Cassino's Heros). You may find many interesing places here. Many pubs, restaurants, bars, shops are located along the street.
The Crooked House (Krzywy Dom)
by gosiaPL
When walking in the Monciak, you can't miss the Crooked House! It's a funny building with no vertical line in its design, that's why it is also called the Drunken House :-) It was inspired by the works of Gaudi but it was given a more modern look. Go inside and check the stores, cafes and restaurants.
You'll find it to your left (partially hidden behind trees) while walking towards the pier.
The Forest Theatre
by gosiaPL
The Molo pier is Sopot's best known landmark but, to Poles, the town is also famous for its Opera Lesna amphitheatre in the forest (hence the name "Forest Theatre"). The greatest event there is the international song contest at the end of August (or beginning of September). It was the most prestigous pop music event in the former Eastern Block, televised by all the countries. Now the contest is spiced up with an extra concert of a world-wide known music star. It is also a venue for other types of performaces and concerts, including classical music. Built in 1909, the amphitheatre can hold up to 5,000 viewers. It's open for tourists in the summer Jun-Sep. Sorry, no picture: last time I was there was in my teenage years.
To get there, you need to walk straight ahead away from the pier, under the railway bridge, and follow the street till you reach the theatre gate. The walk is a bit up the hill at the far end but it's not very strenuous.
SOPOT
by wroclawiak
Wreszcie ktoś pomyślał, że trzeba stworzyć coś ciekawego. Bardzo mi się podoba ten budynek i mam nadzieję, że centrum Sopotu, które się buduje, będzie tak samo interesujące jak ten budynek.
Sopot is one of the Polish sea resorts worth visiting. It is now modernizig its city center and I hope that it will be a really interesting and modern building complex.
