Relax, chill out, take it easy...
by gosiaPL
Sopot is not a place to hurry arround in, especially when you get to the pier. Lots of people sit down on the benches in the pier or go our to the pier's narrow arm for more privacy. Just sitting there and breathing in the sea air feels good. Or you can go to the tip of the pier's arm to watch seagulls or the people on the crazy banana ride... Whatever you do there feels good! And there's enough trains back to Gdansk so no worry :-)
Crazy banana ride!
by gosiaPL
Watch out, you may spontaneously want to go on the crazy banana ride! All's going well until the boat turns and people fall off the banana :-) Everybody's wearing safety jackets so they are safe.
If you want a more comfortable ride, you may choose to sit in the boat.
The Monciak pedestrian street
by gosiaPL
The Monciak is a common nickname for the main pedestrian area in central Sopot, a street called Bohaterow Monte Cassino (Heroes of M.C. - to commemorate the Polish soldiers who fought in the victorious battle of Monte Cassino, Italy during WWII). You reach it within a few minutes from the train station and it runs straight towards the Molo pier.
It's the place to go shopping, pick one of the restaurants or cafes, listen to street musicians, sit down and watch people go by. It's a vibrant place at night too!

The Beach...
by coceng
I could also escaped to the beach area as I was walking. Just watching people lying in the sun.
This is the beach in the north of Poland where it attracts many holiday-makers from nearby Germany & Denmark.
