Family vacation by car Sopot-Sassnitz

Hi!
We are a family of 5 that will go by car from Gdynia-Sassnitz. When we arrive in Gdynia we intend to stay in Sopot for 2 nights, but we are not sure... Since we have 3 kids age 8-12 we need to have some beach life as well so it looked like a good idea to stay in Sopot =) But is it just a party place?
We would also like to stay in an apartment or a camp site that offers bungalows to fit us all, but I can´t find any. A hotel is also an option but then we have to take 2 rooms.
We will take the ferry from Sassnitz back to Sweden and we need another night somewhere along the way. However I do not know any good place to stay where it´s some activity or nice beach town? Any ideas on what to do on the way?
We were thinking of 3 nights along the way Gdansk-Sassnitz or at the most 4 nights...

Sopot is popular sea resort, it is party place.

Summer capital of Poland

Every sea country has place, called “summer capital”, in Lithuania it is Palanga, Latvia – Jurmala, Estonia – Parnu, Poland actually gives advantage to Sopot.
Sopot has one of advantages to other seaside places – it is sheltered by forested area and Hel peninsula, so it makes water warmer than in other places in Baltics. What is more, it is easily connected with not so far places as historical port of Gdansk, full of sightseeing things, former Teutonic Order capital Malbork or Gdynia. This region is quite enjoyable destination in Poland.
Informal Fisherman Museum (Rybackie mini muzeum -)

The really best thing to do when you are in Sopot is to visit my aunt Jagoda, but if you don't have her adress you may as well go to the Sopot beach and stroll along from the Pier towards east.
After a short walk you will encounter a Fisherman monument and a small row of fisherman baracks that were widely used not so long ago.
In one of those baracks you will find a fish store and in the next one and INFORMAL FISHERMAN MUSEUM (Rybackie mini muzeum).
Fisherman Museum is an amasing place to visit. It is owned by Jerzy Piatek (George Friday) the same fisherman who was using it to catch a fish through his whole life. Now guy is retired and over the years he collected an amasing ammount of stuff.
Just look at my pictures and judge for yourself.
The guy has also amasing stories to tell and has a really great sense of humor.
Don't forget to write something in his guest book and also leave some donation since retairement check in poland is almost nithing.

Sandy beaches

Sopot is famous for its clean, sandy beaches, wich stretch along the whole 4.5 km of the Sopot coast. ou can find here water chutes, water and beach equipment rental facilities, showers, wooded moraine hills and numerous little pubs and cafés. Very healthly are the walks along the coast becouse in the air there is big concentration of iodine.

Next time I insist that Gosia and I do some cha-cha ing with the rest of the crazy people down by the beach. You paid admittance to the fenced area where 2 instructors patiently tried to teach the crowd several cha cha moves... and some of them actually learned something! Fun way to spend some time as an alternative to the beach. Gets you prepared for some clubbing later on. You can really look good on the dance floor!! :-)

Mostly people walking. Chatting. Joggers. Strolling. Cyclists. Kids & adults.
