Gdynia, a few km away from Sopot is also a must see seaside town. Actually Sopot lies between Gdansk & Gdynia so do make these 3 amazing & beautiful towns as your must see places this side of Poland !

Garrison Church of St. Jerzy

Near the upper end (I'm calling the end away from the water "upper"), you'll see this church that was built between 1899 and 1901. I went inside and was impressed with the architecture. There is a small square in front of the church (and in front of the Hotel Rezydent) with some benches that makes a nice spot to relax and do some people watching.

St. Andrew Bobola Church

This small church was built at 1870 and dated as the oldest on in Sopot resort. I have’t been inside it, I think they open it only during mass time. There are newly built chapel and (maybe) monastery just nearby it.

CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY „TRIADA“ in Sopot

A gallery of contemporary art where you can admire paintings, graphics, sculptures and ceramics. Established in 1990. The biggest private art gallery on the coast.
Regular exhibitions, generally of the local artistic community and others.

The gallery is open: Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., on Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Prices:
graphics from 60 to 400 zł,
oil paintings from 500 to 18 000 zł.

" FAVOURITE POP-OUT TRIP FROM GDANSK"

Sopot on the Baltic coast is one of the most desired holiday destinations for many Poles. It's a town with a population of about 40,000. Together with Gdansk and Gdynia, it constitutes the Tricity agglomeration. It's famous for its wooden pier, one of the longest in Europe, sandy beaches, water sports, cafes and restaurants, as well as all sorts of clubs for those who are looking for nightlife entertainment.

I never stayed in Sopot but I often visted it on a day's trip from the other places within the Tricity, it's just perfect for this kind of trip and easy to get to. Its relaxed and laid back atmosphere makes it a wonderful retreat after chasing all the antiquities in Gdansk. After all you're on vacation, so why not wet your feet or bathe in the sea, stroll along the pier, sit down on a bench to have a waffle with blueberries and whipped cream - this has always been a must for me in Sopot ever since I first visited as a child.
