Market Place - Rynek
The famous Town Hall dominates the huge market place. In its cellar is the famous beer cellar, Piwnica Swidnicka. There are many beautiful renaissance and secession houses in the square. Great atmosphere with lots of students.

Hello, I'm flying in to Wroclaw in June and hiring a car before driving to my family's home in Prudnik (I think I have to head for Opole/Nysa?)
This is my first time flying into Wroclaw, as I've always flown into either Krakow or Katowice.
Would anyone be able to give me directions?
Cheers.
Stef

It's the second winter already that the inhabitants of Wroclaw (and tourists, as well) can enjoy skating in the very heart of the city - the market square. The ice-rink probably doesn't add beauty to the place but kids (and adults) have fun.
There is no special rainy season

The latest addition to Wroclaw's skyline is Millennium Bridge - the biggest concrete bridge in Poland. It was open on October 29th, 2004. This is good news for those driving in the direction of Poznan as it will make the journey easier and shorter. The bridge looks impressive - the giant pylons support 150-metre long segment of the road over the Odra river.
If travelling by train you'll arrive at Wroclaw-Glowny, the central railway station. It's an impressive building, erected 1856 as the first of the large stations in Germany. (Yup, remember the city was part of Germany back then!) Breslau (the name at that time) was linked by train with other major German cities like Berlin and Leipzig in 1848. This called for a large train station - and it was built in Neo-Gothic Tudor style, looking more like a castle than a train station.
There are quite some shops, snack bars, restrooms and of course the ticket desks to find in the station, most in the 200 m long hall at right angle to the entrance direction. If found the station to be rather dirty, a bit of cleaning would do wonders IMO.
