Crib

There is an impressive crib during Christmas time on the main market square. This is a temporary building, huge and you may enter inside and see the interior. There is a widespread custom of making Christmas cribs in Poland. However, most of them are located in churches. The one in Bydgoszcz is an example of a street crib and was quite interesing.

There are some sculptures of a holy family inside. But the most interesing were alive donkeys. Really funny and it is always great to bring children to see donkeys from a close.

The Forest Park of Culture and Recreation

The Forest Park of Culture and Recreation (Myslecinek) is a very popular place especially on Sundays when the whole families come here. One of the reasons is that this is a good place to practise winter sports. There is even a ski lift for skiers.

Monument on the market square

There is a monument of the war and martyrdom. It sommemorates victims of fascism 1939 - 1945. The monument was founded in 1969.

I think that the monument does not feel the place. It is too big and covers the City Hall, building behide it. In addition, there is a high wall (in the picture) between the monument and the Hall. Looks not that nice.

"Bromberg"

My friend has in Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) a small fishing paradies for sports fishersmen. In case you want to call him extend to him my warm regards and let him know that I enjoyed my time over there. We went to Bydgoszcz from Warsaw in his car. I enjoyed the old city of Bromberg very much. What surprised me was, however, that still so many German names are in use as can be seen in the city.

Anyone enjoying fishing can make arrangements for competitions etc. Carp, eels etc don't ask me, an abundance of fish you can get from his lake
