Hello!
Getting from Bydgoszcz Airport to Torun is quite easy. From the Ryanair homepage I quote: "Bydgoszcz International Airport is located approximately 3 km from the city centre. There's also a bus service that will take you to the city centre in no more than 20 minutes and will cost you approximately 2,20 zloty. A taxi service from the airport is available and will cost you approximately 30 zloty to the centre. It doesn't take more than 15 minutes to get to the city centre by taxi."
From Bydgoszcz you take the train to Torun, there are local trains that won't take more than 60 minutes and costs 10 - 14 zloty. Here is the link to the railway company, PKP: http://rozklad-pkp.pl/?q=en/node/143. Put "Glówny" after the city name to get the time from the main station.
To get into town in Torun, please see my "Torun page", the transportation part for buses.

Regards Lars.

Polish television at my convention

by matcrazy1

A lot of great cultural events and scientific conventions take place in Torun each year. Watch for cars marked TVP and TVN. Whenever you find them be sure that something important is going on.

TVP means Polish Television (public television = ...we must pay for it :-((( each month: 3 programmes + TV Polonia transmitted abroad (on cable) for people with Polish roots living in many countries around the globe, approx. 10 millions in the USA for example.

TVN is main Polish private television - a few programmes including TVN24 = news non-stop (Polish CNN hehe) including news in English every hour.

Events

by matcrazy1

All major indoor events like concerts, conventions etc. take place at Nicolaus Copernicus Aula. It's a quite large hall with over 500 seats (the largest in Torun) and good acoustics. I was listening a choir there during my professional convention.
