Nice story. It reminds me of the Pied Pier of Hamelin, with a better ending. :)
As for kissing frogs, in the old days girls dreamed of meeting Prince Charming... There was a fairy tale where a Princess kissed a frog... who turned into a Prince! They lived happily ever after hahaha!
Now the saying goes "You have to kiss a whole lot of frogs before you meet Prince Charming!"
Meantime, women's liberation is leaving a lot of frogs in the pond...

The city of youth
by sihi
There are many young people in Torun, becouse of that city looks young and fresh, although it has 1000 years long history. They are beautiful and friendly people - a part of Toruns beauty. They are local inhabitans and students from other cities (and countries) who study in Torun. Torun is the city of students, you know.
Somebody can ask, there are many cafes and bars in Torun and many tourists in summer time who drink beer there, but who drinks beer, who visits these bars in winter?
Ofcourse they are students.
Maybe there is no so many tourists in winter as it is in summer in Torun. And these bars, cafes, pubs can exist thanks students studing in Torun, at least in winter time:)

If you don't visit a speedway match when in Poland, then you haven't been to Poland! You just should try it if you have not yet done. To experience the atmosphere on spot is quite fascinating. Torun lost the finals against Leszno in 2007, but won the finals against the same antagonists in 2008, so to watch speedway in Torun is a great opportunity.
Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU)
by matcrazy1
The NCU occupies a broad local base - almost 60 buildings are situated on the central academic campus, and others are located elsewhere in the city and its vicinity. I started my Torun tour at the central academic campus located in a district called "Bielany", approx. 3 km (2 miles) northwest of Torun old city.
