Once it belonged to St. George's guild that looked back at the legendary King Arthur and his Round Table as the model for their social and religious activity. The building witnessed a lot of historic events, the most important of which was the Peace of Torun signed here in 1466, when Poland regained some of its northern territories. Many celebrities were received in Arthur's Court, f.e. Teutonic Grand Masters or Polish kings.
The present building comes from 1891. It serves mainly as the cultural centre where many concerts, performances, lectures and also New Year's balls take place.
