Lovely Modern Hotel

I would recommend this Hotel to anybody, 5 minutes walk from the train station, on the doorstep of a modern shopping plaza and 5 minutes walk from Rynek Glowny square.

Unique Quality: Modern, tasteful hotel - one of the best I have ever stayed in.

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Great Hotel!!!

by TripAdvisor Member Isacorp

Amazingly good located! When you use train connection from the airport (6 zloty/ticket) you can be within 15minutes at the Hotel! Very close to the Old Market Square and near the central train station and shopping centre open every day till 10pm. Very good Hotel offer (fitness with sauna, underground parking, business corner, wireless internet) and very friendly and helpful service. I definetly recommend this Hotel.

Excellent all round

by TripAdvisor Member AMCUK

Well located across from the railway station overlooking a new square where there is also the huge new Galeria Krakowska shopping centre and post office buildings. Only 15 mins from airport, a free shuttle bus takes you the few minutes ride from the terminal to the railway platform - and that is all it is, an open platform next to a wooded area. Pay on the train 6 zlotys (about £1.20) for a ticket hand-written in triplicate for the journey to Krakow. Trains run every half hour. Hotel is just outside the old town and an easy walk through The Planty - a narrow park that surrounds the old town where the city walls used to be. Felt quite safe taking the obvious usual precautions of being somewhere unfamiliar. The hotel is very modern and comfortable and you get a nice breakfast with enough choice of hot and cold selections to suit most tastes. Also nearby is the fabulous Krakow theatre building. Trams stop outside the hotel that take you further down to the old Jewish district of Kazimierz. Would certainly recommend this hotel and would look out for Andels in other cities too. Thoroughly enjoyed our few nights here.

Almost excellent

by TripAdvisor Member Brunlea

A very nice and almost brand new hotel but still some teething problems. Checked in OK but found some in the room! Almost immediately someone arrived from reception apologising and saying they had realised there was a computer problem. DVD player was faulty mid-evening but no maintainance staff till the next day. You can also flood the bathroom from the shower if you are not careful where the showerhead is pointed.

However these were minor issues. This is a really nicely designed hotel with pleasant and helpful staff, good breakfasts, good (if pricey by Polish standard's) bar and in a brilliant position. It is next to the station and where most buses go from. 10 minute stroll to heart of city. Adjacent to a large shopping centre with good range of shops & cafes and a supermarket.

The train is the best way of getting from the airport but it is new & not mentioned in a lot of guidebooks.

We were travelling with a vegetarian and a vegan - surprisingly Krakow had a number of specialist restaurant/cafes. We recommend Greenway right in the centre.

Great design and nice people

by TripAdvisor Member Julia6

It was my first time in this hotel but I am sure that I will be back.
I love the interiors-especially bathrooms. Hotel is really design with a great modern art and sophisticated decorations.
Second think is staff-charming people including somebody who helped me how to make the reservation-I think it was reservation department and also reception who is always smiling and helpful in many things.

'Romantic Weekend' - a bargain!

by TripAdvisor Member MarcieHatter

Wow, what a great place. Booked a 'Romantic Weekend' on the special offers page of their website, for 248 euros (including tax) you got 2 nights in a standard room, breakfast, a 3 course dinner in the restaurant, champagne, fruit in your room and rose petals on the bed when you arrive!

Also has to be one of the quietest hotel rooms I've ever slept in, although we were on the side facing the shopping center on the 4th floor - might not be so good on the side facing the trams. Bed was wonderfully comfy, bathroom was lovely, staff were terrific, just can't fault this place at all.

Seemed a shame that there were only 4 other couples in the restaurant on Saturday night as the food was excellent - probably very pricey for Krakow but we're used to London prices - and it was included in our stay! Book yourself a 'Romantic Weekend' whilst you can!

Very modern hotel with horrible cuisine

by TripAdvisor Member monisyn

Brand new hotel, started I think in April 2007. I've stayed there 3 days. Of course I took last available room. Service is very nice and very helpfull - Never meet such a nice people - that's big advantage of the hotel.... And that's all I enjoyed in hotel - horrible cusine (got stomach problems), mess on breakfast not enough people working, for ex. I got tea in cafeterie !!! I can't sleep when airconditioning is on to turn it off I had to call reception desk to turn it off. I would never go back to this hotel - no way

fantastic choice
