Atelier Aparthotel
This is a new hotel in Krakow that gets rave reviews on the hotel booking sites. I can only say that I agree with them. It's got a great location, a minute's walk from the bus and train station, and only a little further to the old town. Trams to pretty much everywhere you might want to run on the busy street adjacent to the peacefully quiet Topolowa that the hotel sits on.
The hotel has large rooms, clean and comfy with large bathrooms and powerful showers. The staff are friendly, every present, speak good English and very keen to help with any questions about the hotel or the city. You also get free, fast wi-fi. At 50 euros a night I doubt you could find better value for your Zloty anywhere else in the city.
The downsides were that the rooms were a bit non-descript and a little scruffy around the edges. The view from my first floor room was a run-down shack in the backyard. Also, and I don't know if these were guests or a permanent problem with the neighbours, but the people above me seemed to be conducting salsa lessons in clogs from 7am until midnight. Bastards.
