The Astoria has small single rooms, but they are sunny (at 6 am too sunny - someone should tell them about dark curtains!) and well-maintained. There is no mini bar, but they provide a bottle of water for free; there is a blow-dryer in the bathroom, and the TV has Polish and German channels and CNN. Breakfast is ample, but coffee, as elsewhere in Poland, is nothing to write home about. I paid 80 Euro for a single, plus 1, 60 zloty per night's stay (local tax).
Unique Quality: Best thing about the Astoria? Its location! right on Josefa street, in Kazimierz, a half-hour (at most) walk from Rynek Glowny but very well placed for the bar life in Kazimierz.
Directions: Kazimierz, 15-30 minute walk from old town.
