Hey

by Red_Star_Nightmare

Hi, I was just wondering if any VT'ers would like to meet up in april in Krakow? for a drink and a laugh?

Re: Hey

by johngayton

Best to post a meeting using the "Meet Members" link on the blue bar at the top of the page. As a forum post it'll just get lost.

Also useful is to have a look at the members pages who live in Krakow and are currently active. Pop into their pages to say Hi and suggest a meet.

Hi,

If I remember right, once I wrote you in a mail that you could probably hang out with my daughter-not a VT member but/and two years younger than you (so she still under my close supervision hahahaha) during any of your visit in Krakow.
Cheers,

Maciek

visit the Wawel complex. ...

by kochamanita

visit the Wawel complex. Here's a picture of the Zygymunt Stary (Zygymunt the Elder) bell, the largest in Poland. Unlike the Liberty Bell, they still use this one. It's a bit tricky finding your way up to it though. The royal palace itself (Krakow was the capital for a long time before Warsaw) it very pretty, with many beautiful tapestries and armor.

THE PLANTY - OLD TOWN

by LoriPori

The defined center of Krakow is the area enclosed by THE PLANTY, a narrow strip of green space stretching from the Barbakan in either direction around to Wawel Hill. The Planty came into being in the 19th century, replacing the demolished city walls that surrounded old Krakow.
In this space, there are dozens of museums and galleries, a number of churches, also theaters, cinemas, bookstores, antique galleries, streets full of shops, cafe's, pubs and restaurants.
The Planty is a peaceful green area and you would never know you were in the middle of a large city. There is also many benches scattered around, so you can rest after long walks.
The accompanying picture is of a sign in the Planty, pointing to where Wawel Castle is.

New Year on the main square

by Alicja1

Cracow is a fantastic place to celebrate NEW Year. Except a Christmas market , there is a big party going on just in the middle of the main square. usually there are some concerts, fire works display at midnight. There are thousands people around having fun. Dont forget to bring your champaigne with you. At midnight we have a count down end everybody drinks champaigne. Dont bother about glasses:-) Other think to do is to book a party in on of the clubs around the main square. Most of the clubs organize food and drinks. But make sure you book your place few months before . It is VERY BUSY!!!! I will put some pictures after New Year, because .. where you think I am going :-)

PS I can recommend New Year party in CK Browar. Good food, dancing and close to market to have a count down over there! Happy New Year

Do (not) forget your family :-)

Krakow is a very romantic place with some attractions for kids as well. Never try not to get to Krakow your lovely wife/husband lover/fiance and your kids.
OK, sometimes you may try it - look at my picture :-)).
