Fantastic location

We visited Krakow in early March. Considering the city is much colder than Lisbon, and assuming we could face some bad weather conditions, we opted to book an hotel in the historic centre and have everything nearby, instead of saving some zloties and book an hotel a bit further which would imply using public transportation under unknown weather conditions.

We choose Hotel Unicus, and we are so glad we did it. The hotel couldn't have been better situated! It is situated on ul. Sw. Marka 20, which is a perpendicular street to ul. Florianska, about half way between Florian Gate and Rynek Glowny. Everything is within easy walking distance, including the train and bus stations. We only used public transportation to arrive and depart from Krakow, as we used to walk everywhere, including the Jewish Quarter, castle and historic centre.

The hotel is situated on a street with bars opened at night, but building isolation is good and we never noticed any noise.

The hotel is situated on an ancient building, but nicely refurbished and modern; rooms are very comfortable and decorated and equipped in modern style. The breakfast is served on the restaurant situated on the lower underground floor, in some sort of basement, which has been kept original during refurbishment: the ceiling and some walls were kept in its original stones, showing us how ancient that construction is. Breakast is buffet style with cold and hot food, and everything was tasty and freshly cooked.

At the reception, there is the "In Your Pocket Guide". I asked for one, and they gave me one free for charge as well as a touristic city map.
