Good hotel set in great location
I sayed at the Wawel Tourist hotel for six days in early July 2006. It's easily findable from the railway station and is set in a delightful cobbled street; its own restaurant is attached, but there are several others within a minute or two's walk. Krakow's impressive main square ('Rynek') is easily reached on foot, and it's only a short walk to many of the other attractions such as the castle and the river. The staff are friendly, if not overly so, and the room I stayed in looked to be recently refurbished to a good standard. It might be better to take an air-conditioned room; the side of the hotel facing the road catches the sun for most of the day. A nearby church bell, and trams clattering from very early until very late, makes sleep a little difficult with an open window.
The breakfast selection isn't brilliant, although the food served in the same restaurant for dinner is good.

Great value in great surroundings
Nice staff, large rooms without too many facilities, free water in the corridors. I had a refurbished room with a new bathroom. Great for a weekend stay and excellent location (five minutes walk to the market square).
I paid 180 zloty ($56) for a single room w/bath. Booked through their website. I will definitly stay there again.
Didn't try the breakfast.
Unique Quality: Historical building. Beautiful reception area and garden.
