This is a nice modern 3 stars hotel but it's not in the walking distance of an old town. The good thing is that there is a bus stop just few meters from the hotel. buses are cheap, 2,5 zloty (this is around 0.6 euro), and they are frequent. last bus leaves around 11:30 pm. if you want to return to hotel at night you will have to find a taxi. it will cost you around 15 zloty (night tariff).
Unique Quality: Rooms are spacious and clean as well as the bathroom. We didn't have any problem with leaving our things when we were out. Staff is also very friendly. Ask for a map of bus/trams lines and taxi ranks and a very good map of town with all adresses and monuments.
There is also a pool in a hotel, free of charge for guests but we didn't use it. There is also a souvenir shop in a lobby. In a hallway they have a stand(?) with hot and cold water wich is great if you want to make yourself a cup of tea (for tea fanatics like me). Every room has a TV, hairdryer, mini bar, phone...

If you take a look from the Krakowiak hotel, you'll see hotel NOVOTEL. It has much more unique qualities, but the highest price also.

Normally I am not too fond of hotel restaurants. Always rather go into the city and find one. But after my trip to poland, I was bit tired and decided to eat at the hotel. And as expected the atmosphere isn't great. But to a suprise, the food was excelent. It deffenetly is worth to have a few dinners here/ You really have to try the sole topped with smoked salmon
Have the double rooms in the Novotel Krakow Centrum got double beds or twin beds?
Now there's a question - I've stayed in a few Novotels around Europe but not in Krakow. Usually the standard room is 1 double and a settee that can be made up as a single, the extra sheet, blanket and pilow being in the closet. Does that help?
Not sure about the Novotel, but the Ibis Centrum which is right next door and part of the same hotel group, has got double beds. As I said, the Ibis is right next door but a lot cheaper than the Novotel. You just don't get the same views.
