Good deal for kids
We stayed at Novotel Centrum because we were only in town for one night, its close to the both the old town and easy to access Kazimierz and has good deals for kids - who go free in parents room. £60 for one night in August for 4 in a good quality hotel as we booked last minute. You can get good advanced Novotel deals if you book early enough. The Hotel was fine - no character but it served its purpose and the kids enjoyed an early morning swim.
My husband was eager to escape for something to eat soon after we arrived but the kids were tired and didnt want to go far. We stepped out of the hotel, it was dark but across the road hidden behind some bushes seemed to be some twinkling fairy lights. Dragging reluctant kids we went to explore only to find a truly bizarre little bar worthy a visit in its own right. Picture woodcutters cottage (ok it wasnt real but the kids loved it anyway) full of stuffed badgers, owls and witches cauldrons serving real (and very strong ) ale . Food was a paper plate with a sausage, bread , mustard and ketchup - we had to go back outside where a large fire was burning and cook our sausage on the fire. Not what you expect to find when in the very heart of a large european city ! It may have looked more magical because we were tired after a long coach trip from Slovakia but our extra night in Krakow ended up being one of the highlights of a 3 week trip.

Large rooms and a wonderful pool.
Booked this on the internet and we got an excellent rate. The hotel is large and all the staff are friendly. The rooms are huge. Our room had two double beds in it.
There is a good sized pool and jacuzzi. There is also a well equipped gym (too tired for the gym although we did use the pool. Also available at extra cost are massages, beauty retments and hairdresser too.
Unique Quality: Good size room, excellent bar and restaurant.

Stylish, yet basic
We had a double room, which was very clean and spacious with TV, minibar (key available from the reception), air conditioning, a safe, and a water kettle. WC was big with bath tub and shower. There's a bar and a restaurant at the ground floor. The bar was quite expensive, but there was free snacks available. Breakfast was served at the restaurant and it was very good with hot and cold dishes, cereal, breads, rolls and croissants, fresh fruit salad and, of course, tea and coffee. The location is great, only 15 minutes walk to the Market Square and opposite to the Wavel castle. Not very personal hotel though, as it is a part of the Accor Hotels group.
Unique Quality: There's a gym, sauna and a swimming pool at the hotel, also a little souvenir shop and a luggage room. You can also have a massage at the hotel.

I've stayed here several times. There is a tramstop outside the door, for easy access into the main old town, although its sometimes just as quick to walk the 10 mins into the main square. The hotel has views of the river & castle. Its on a main road, but at least you can't get lost down a dark side street looking for it. The hotel also boasts spa/fitness facilities which more than adequately suffice for a short break stay. The rooms are typically novotel style, a little larger however than your standard European Novotel rooms. They are comfortable, clean have a mini bar, are attended to daily by very polite housekeeping staff who can always manage a hello if you are passing. The restaurant has a good menu with prices in line with Novotel. Bar meals are available and are a very high standard. The staff speak English to a high standard and are polite & friendly. I would definitely reccommend, unless you are a little fussy then you always have the Sheraton along the road at three times the price.

Novotel Krakow Centrum
Novotel Krakow Centrum is the largest four star hotel in Krakow. The hotel is located in the city centre overlooking the Wawel Royal Castle and within walking distance to the Old Town.
Unique Quality: What did it for me was the fact that the hotel had a gym and sauna.. Plus the added bonus of an internet room with computer that had microsoft office software which allowed me to read important email attachments. They also had secure car-parking...

Staying at the Novotel is pretty much like staying at the Holiday Inn in the US. We used their business center for about 60 straight hours and they were a little confused by this behaviour. But, the hotel was nice.

I did not stay myself in this hotel but I know a couple that did.
This is I presume the only Kosher hotel here in Krakow. You should expect that majority of the guests will be orthodox Jews from around the world. However, staying here might give you a slight picture of how might be the life in this city before the war.

4 Star Bargain
I was in Krakow on business last week and we stayed at the Novotel Centrum. The price (EUR 75) is great what you get. From my room (521) there was a great view of Wavel Castle and the river. The hotel is just a short 10-15 minute walk from the old town, situated across from a grocery store, has a good breakfast (costs EUR 9 extra), and has a great pool/sauna/hot tub/fitness area. The service was great and they even let us use the facilities after we checked out while we were waiting for our night train. The only drawback I saw was that the rooms are not equiped with highspeed Internet.
Unique Quality: The view of Wavel Castle from some of the rooms and the fitness area.

Very nice views
Well, I didn't have to pay, as it was paid by my company. But it is a nice Hotel. From most rooms you will have a view of the Wawel Castle.
Unique Quality: The view of the castle is just great.
