    • I used to stay in Monopol Hotel for a night about three - four years ago. What was unique of this hotel that it was in a style of communist era. Rooms were really huge - maybe about three metres between the floor and celing. In addition, the equipment of the room was rather old - like from the past era.

    I would say that things change and as I would see in Internet the hotel became a member of RT hotels in Krakow and was restored. It is a three star hotel and probably much nicer that it used to be in the past.

    The building of the hotel is a monumental one. It was built in 1876, designed by Filip Pokutynski in eclectic style.

    The price was reasonable but the location was amazing, considering many of Krakow's best attractions are found within walking distance.

  • Directions: The Monopol is located several blocks from the main square. Most residents will know exactly where it is; I found directions by asking people on the street.

    Really convinient place. So close to all important landmarks of this city that you'll tend not to spend too much time inthere. Excellent and genuinly friendly service.
