Hi
Just wondering if there is a bus or train service which will take me on the route above. I want to go snowboarding in Jasna. Websites would be greatly appreciated.
Also are there any cheap flights available from Bratislava to Amsterdam. I had a look on SkyEurope but it doesn't seem to work properly. I am looking for a flight around the 10th of january.
Thanks
no direct one but to Poprad then Liptovsky Mikulas.Seasonal direct bus from Krakow on weekends.
Thanks for the reply.
Given it is only an hour away if driven from the western route would it be worthwile just taking a taxi? Any idea how much that would cost?
Is there a train or bus to Bratislava once in liptovsky mikulas or would I again need to go back to Poprad?
1 Taxi -no idea.
2.Liptovsky Mikulas- Bratislave connaction should be for sure.

Gosia and I had to hire a car to bring us to the gallery which is outside the main retail "strip". The driver pulled into what looked like someone's back yard, but there was a sign, so we decided to ring the bell. A handsome curly haired man answered the door and invited us into the gallery just inside the door. I immediately saw my favorite piece which had been exhibited in Sandomierz a few years ago. The studio has numerous pieces of sculpture created by Antoni Rzasa... the father of the man who greeted us. It is interesting to see the framed pieces which accompany the sculptures....showing the artist's first sketches of his intended work. Sometimes it is a quick idea dashed on the back of an envelope which later became a piece wonderfully sculpted in fruitwood.
Marcin spoke in Polish to Gosia and eventually beckoned his wife, Magda (who speaks English) to join us. We learned that Antoni's work is not for sale, but travels around Poland on exhibit and soon will be shown in Italy.
Marcin and Magda are planning a trip to Italy to retrace his father's steps on a journey he made before Marcin was born. The story goes that when he returned from Rome he was very depressed. He told his family and friends, "Everything has been done." He couldn't work for six months... but then he created perhaps his greatest work...and my favorite..St. Francis. Marcin tells the story that as he grew up, it felt as if the sculpture was his "older brother".
There is a small room off the gallery where they have stock piled many more pieces which wait for display space.
It was more meaningful to see the work in this place where you had more of the feeling of the artist in his own space. Antoni built this house where Marcin and his family now live... and Marcin continues to carve.
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants on Gubalowka Hill. We stopped at one of these, which had a nice terrace overlooking the town and the mountains, for a quick drink, a pack of crisps and a game of cards. The food and drink here was very good value.
I didn't go inside the Tatra Museum. The collection includes local art including the interesting paintings on glass that you can also see in St. Clement's Church and that would have been about the only thing that would really interest me. In addition, you'll also find highland themes, such as wooden interiors and highland costumes. And there is also a collection of local species, but I'm not into seeing dead-stuffed animals.
Once you reach Dolina Pieciu Stawow Polskich you should decide on your way back. You may go straight to Zakopane via Krzyzne, or Zawrat, or Kozia, but theses routes are either very long or quite difficult. So consider going down Roztoka Valley. From the hut you have two routes to choose from. I'd rather recommend you a BIT longer but more beautiful and interesting - by Siklawa Waterfall. So don't choose the shorter one (by a cable car for supplies) but head for Siklawa.

A: "as the "mt" implies, both Gubalowka and Kasprowy Wierch are mountains, not resorts. there is a gondola offering rides up to Gubalowka, so if you do not intend to do..."
