After looking at several websites, and wanting somewhere cheap and reasonably central for somewhere to just crash for a few nights, this seemed to tick the boxes. However, the fifteen minutes into the centre described is in a car! On the first day we arrived, decided to walk into town. Only did it once! We had a standard twin room, which was very basic, but clean and warm, with surprisingly good shower. The staff were pleasant and friendly, happy to call the cabs we used to get into the centre, (very reasonable in fairness, expect to pay about £4.), but spoke limited English. It is an ok place to stay, with a mix of foreign budget travellers and Poles. It is possible to walk to the metro or tram in about 15-20 minutes, but with cabs being so cheap, and turning up very promptly, they are a pretty good option.
Unique Quality: Views of Southern suburbs of Warsaw (we had room on the 9th floor, and the lift is an experience in itself!), all fairly samey, and certainly not inspiring! The corridors are reminiscent of a psychiatric institution, indeed on returning late at night, my brother and I almost expected to see Sarah Connor padding along, with the terminator in hot pursuit! If you like something a bit differrent and want to really feel you are in Warsaw then this place will do the trick.
Directions: About 7km South of centre.
