Dizzy Daisy Warsaw

We had a great stay at the hostel. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Comfortable, quite near the central station. Shops to buy water (which is not drinkable from the tap) open until late at night. Internet wifi in the lounge. Would definitely stay again!

Unique Quality: nice views, near to park, free guides an maps at the reception desk

During summer time.... When students are away

When university students are on their own vacation, Jul 5 - Aug 25 the students dormitories become hostels for young (in spirit, not age...) travelers. "Dizzy Daisy" hostels is a net of budget accommodation not only in Warsaw but also in other cities in Poland that are also worth visiting, like Gdansk and Krakow.
In Warsaw they have 2 sites, (checked in Aug. 2003) the one on Warynskiego st. is very well placed but if you are looking for a private 1-2 bedded room with a private (en-suite) WC they have it on Gornoslaska st., which is much less convenient in terms of getting around..

Unique Quality: Don't expect too much though, it's just a simple hostel which will give you a clean bed, free hot water in the showers and free use of the kitchen (and free access to the internet if you have the patience to wait for your turn).
Private rooms with WC en-suite only in the one on Gornoscaska st., otherwise it's shared as in most student dormitories or youth hostels.
Prices (Aug. 2003) for person per night, hostel on Warynskiego st. converted from Zloty to USD:
in single room 18 USD
in double room 12.5 USD
in triple room 11.25 USD
in dorms 10 USD

Finally a chain of budget hostels...

I haven't tried this one but hope it is reasonably good service for the money.

This student house during summer vacations becomes a part of the chain of independent hostels in Polish major cities - Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk and Wroclaw.

They have an outlet with information at Warsaw's Railroad Central Station (Dworzec Centralny).

Finally someone tries to implement the idea of a chain of independent hostels in Poland... I hope that works out pretty well.
