Helvetia - behind the corner of the Royal Route

Relatively new (opened mid 2005) and very comfortable, exemplary clean.
Excelent friendly and helpful staff who will help you willingly with a smile more then in a lavish hotel.
Kitchen, common room, free internet (you might wait for your turn if it's busy), linen/towel included. All that one might expect from a good hostel.

Best location in town if you want to be close to the old town but not above the noise and traffic. Only 100 meters from the statue of Copernicus and the Holy Cross church.
Nice cafe about 80 meters, grocery shop on the corner.

Although excelent location, might be not that easy to find. From corner of Swietokrzyska and Nowy Swiat/Krakowskie Przedmiescie (bus stop just before or after the corner) roll downhill on Swietokrzyska about 70 meters. After the children's hospital the street ends and the wider part turns right to became Kopernika and Tamka. On your left you'll see (another 40 meters) small parking place and a building, marked as Kopernika 36/40 . Once it was the center of the all worker's unions, looks accordingly and still host some establishments. Go around (surround it) right side, and look for the entrance on the other side of the building, on Sewerynow St.
Not sure yet? When on krakowskie Przedmiescie in front of Holy Cross church, go the the other side of the street and stroll down on the small Obozna St.
After about 80 meters you should see the left side of the same building, with small grocery shop on the corner of Sewerynow St. Turn right and you are there.

Prices (Sep 2006) 45-60 PLN per bed in the dorms, breakfast not included in drom's price.
Also available private rooms, breakfast included.

Unique Quality: They rent not only bikes, but also electrical scooters. Proper drivers licence required.
Within small strolling distance from the old town and Nowy Swiat St. Basically on the Royal Route, without the noise of it.
The only disadvantage: no public/pay phone inside or in the very proximity.

Directions: Center, VERY VERY center, 100 meters down hill from Copernicus' statue .
