The Old Town- the place of many faces....
by PolishChick
.....seriously! There is always something there that will surprise or astonish you, plus make you laugh...Like this old Polish cowboy who travels all around the country and even his lack of teeth doesn`t keep him away from singing and make you enjoy your time even more!
Bashka..... Bashka...... Bashka.......
by adin
Any Polish kid must recognize this call.
When you go to the Lazienki park, or visit the military cemetery, don't forget the nuts (without shells, of course).
If you arrive early enough in the morning, just take the nuts bag, rattle it and call "Bashka".
The squirrels arrive and wait for you to give them whatever you got for them.
Don't try to pet them - they are wild animals and might bite if feel stressed.
The one in the picture had managed to take the whole bag from my photo equipment case, left open for less than a minute.
Both places accessible by bus 180. Don't miss the Lazienki. The city's authorities removed the wild foxes they released there, after the foxes caused another problem: the reduction of the geese population in the park..........:-)
The Chopin Monument
by Cool-123
When you walk along the road - Al.Ujazdowskie, there is a Lazienki Park on your left. You will find the Lazienki Palace (The Palace on the Water) and Chopin Momment. In the summer, just here at noon there are Chopin's concerts performed by famous planists. Admission is free.
Toyin, Tom, June, Paul
by matcrazy1
I met Toyin for the first time during the first official European VT-meeting in Italy in 2005 (Valeggio sul Mincio). I liked him a lot and thus I wanted him to come to Warsaw. Well, although my proposal to join Warsaw VT-meeting was given to Toyin a week or so before the meeting and although it was unbelievably cold in Warsaw (below -20C) he decided to come.
Thanks for coming, Toyin. We were very happy to see you again and you gave us a lot of great laugh, good fan and... no more words. You are always welcome back to Poland. And warning: someday we may come to your place in Paris or... Nigeria. If most Nigerians are similar to you... Well, it sounds impossible, there are not so many (129 mln in Nigeria) such nice people like you.
Excuse Me

OK, burping is pretty much rude anywhere, but burp in Poland infront of a girl and its over. She will be horified and lecture you on the proper way to behave when in the company of a Polish lady. The most common lines said by the ladies "i dont know how the girls in America are, but u wont get a Polish girl doing that"
Like i said, yes its rude anywhere, but dont let one slip here...
