Ripped Off
I booked this hotel on May 26th at about 11:30 AM. Through www.hotelsinpoland.org. Within 30 minutes of booking it I found out about a family emergency and so I had to fly back to England within the next couple of hours.
I immediately phoned Czarny Kot directly. When I spoke to the male there he was not aware of my booking yet. He stated that he did not know about it yet thus I would need to speak to the internet company I booked with. I then rang www.hotelsinpoland.org. at this was a very stressfull time due to the issues at home and trying to rearrange flight etc...
www.hotelsinpoland.org. were extremely unsympathetic to my situation and told me to send an email stating that I wanted to cancel. I did as they asked then had to phone further 3 times to discuss the cancellation. They would not confirm if I had a cancellation fee or not. In the end as I was boarding my flight they told me to wait for an email from them. When I got back to the UK I read the email from them on which they told me I would be charged 450 zt!!!! This is an outrageous charge for a booking that was cancelled within 30 minutes of it been made and that the hotel were not even aware of when I went to cancel with them. The hotel had not lost out on any business and the staff from www.hotelsinpoland.org. were far from sympathetic to my plight and were basically rude. I would strongly recommend that people think very carefully before using www.hotelsinpoland.org. or Hotel Czarny Kot who were part of the decision making process in this matter to charge. If you end up in an emergency they will not help you.

strange place.. ;-)
The opinions on that hotel are splitted - some people are happy with their stay and some complain. But there is one thing that is sure - the hotel is different from others :-)
It's not the chain hotel so every room looks different. I can compare it to box of chocolate - you never know what you get ;-). I just know my room was really nice ( number 4) and it looked much better than my friend's room ( number 10). But the standard of both of them was similar. I have to bring down the myth that there are no cap boards in the rooms. Both me and my friend had big cap boards in our rooms :-)
I didn't like the style of the hotel too much - too sophisticated - but i can say everything was at the right place in there. The corridors seemed a bit complicated and it was easy to get lost.
When it comes to the service I found it very helpfull. Everyone was very friendly. What I really liked was that people who work there seem to be very friendly not only to custmers but also to each other.
There is one more thing that makes the hotel so different - I just dont know if you are going to like it ( I loved it) - they had a huge dog (bernardine) in there - she was walking throught the corridors and had an eye on everything ;-) looked beautifull and was very friendly. Easy!!! I didn't find any single hair of this dog in the hotel.
There was a restaurant downstairs, I don't know about dinners but the breakfast was so so - maybe that because I was always the last to come for breakfast ;-)
One more adventage of the hotel was its location. It's really close to the big shopping centre and there are lots of bus and tram stops nearby - on the bus number 180 it takes just 10 minutes to get to the Old Town. The line 180 is a tourist line and it takes you to the all places of interests in Warsaw ( just not to the Palace of Culture and Science - but for this destination you can catch tram numbers: 16,17,19,29,33)

Czarny Kot
I stayed at the hotel one night. My visit was quite nice. The room was big, as well as the bathroom but there was no furniture and I had no place to put my clothes in.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked about the way and they answered with pleasure. It was strange that the reception wasclosed in the morning and I didn't know where to give the key. It occured that the waiter take it when the reception is not working.^o^
The breakast was tasty.
The name of the hotel means `Black Cat`.

So unfriendly it is funny
Oh my God! This hotel was very weird. I paid 90 dollars for 3 nights for 2 persons so I wasn't expecting that much. When I entered the hotel I firstly couln't find the reception, it was actually on the first floor.
What I noticed immediately was the smell in the hotel. Probably very bad working (or no) ventilation in the kitchen.
We had a room on the first floor with a bathroom that was bigger than the rest of the room. I named the hotel "the porn-hotel" because of all the mirrors in the hotel and in the rooms (even above the bath tub :s) and the very weird decorated breakfast room with a pooltable in it and "sophisticated" lights. Hmmz. I could already see the actors.
The hotel was noisy as well, because of all the marble floors and ceilings.
The breakfast was ok, I'm not that keen on Polish breakfasts, I found out out :)
The staff (especially at the reception) was really unfriendly it was even funny. When I asked the guy if he could look whether my boyfriends plane had arrived he told me that there was an internet cafe nearby. Now that is what I call service!
Concluding, it was priceworthy.

Funny hotel with personel style
Our stay was interesting. The hotel is not like other hotels. The reception is located on th 2nd floor. The arcitecture is also different with curved walls and a lot of mirrors. The staff was very helpful, though thier english was not so well spoken. The hotel is located a few km from the city centre, but since a taxi will costs about 3-4euros there is no problem.
