Quiet B&B at outskirts of the city

    by

Gosia found this pleasant little B&B for us to stay just outside the city in a quiet environment. Our hosts were extremely gracious, the room clean and comfortable and the breakfast quite adequate. Altho we were dismayed with the instant coffee served here. (We find we have little tolerance for sub-standard coffee nowadays.) However, our stay was otherwise completely satisfactory and I would recommend it to the traveller who wishes to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
There is a little patio in the front of the building where we brought some wine, bread, cheese and such for dinner one evening and it was a restfull meal away from restaurants. Gave our feet and backs a chance to recooperate before taking on another day of sightseeing. I highly recommend this sort of evening when travelling.

    Family atmosphere

    by

I've stayed in several places in Gdansk but during my last stay I chose Villa AKME (my second time there). It's a B&B / guesthouse with neat rooms, each one with a bathroom. Breakfast was simple but tasty, just as if you had breakfast at home. Plus, there is a coffee vending machine so you can have your cuppa any time you want during the day. Very friendly atmosphere and home-like feel of the place makes it popular even with business people who are fed up with hotels and want a quieter place for the night.
Be aware that the villa is about 10-15 minutes taxi ride (depending on the traffic) from the Main Town and other tourist attractions, so popping in and out whenever you want to during the day will be a bit of a hassle. But returning there at the end of the busy and noisy day feels good. A double room in the high season is at 180 zloty ($60). There are other B&Bs in the street but, in the summer, always book your accommodation in advance.

Unique Quality: Very friendly atmosphere. Cute front porch to relax in the evening.

    Directions: Off the Main Town
