The Motlawa river at sunset
by matcrazy1
You know that the best shapes of architectural details and the best colours, especially for a dedicated fan of photography, are seen at sunsets. That's why I was very lucky to be about that perfect time of the day somewhere along Gdansk rivers: the Motlawa and the Old Motlawa. The granaries on the eastern bank of the river were perfectly lighted by the sunset sun which made deep mirror reflections on the water level. The sunset over the Motlawa river.
Pigeons of Gdansk
by matcrazy1
Pigeons (as I remember my biology lessons) unfortunatelly don't have one important muscle: sphincter of anus, so hmm... they relieve themselves without any control during flight. There are many pigeons in the old town of Gdansk but the risk of being "***ted" by them is less than in Krakow. Is it better behaviour or laziness of these bird citizens of Gdansk? Anyway, you can be their target as well :-).
Pigeons of Gdansk seems to love either green space and old buildings and statues. They really have a very good taste :-). But unfortunatelly their excrements destroy them :-(. Maybe to change their diet somehow to decrease it? What do you think?
Harpagan - a bit of extreme walking...
by Dagon
Harpagan is organised twice a year - in Spring and in Autumn. The main thing to do is just walking. You should walk through 100 kilometers in 24 hours. It may sound easy, but it's not... Many tried, not many did it.
You get on the start a map, where are pointed checkpoints situated in terrain. There are two circles which have got 50 kilometers. You must get to all this chekpoints using map.
There is also simmilar try for bikers, but they need to pass 200 kilometers in 12 hours, what is also difficult (remember, that it's played in forest, not on opened space).
I strongly recommend it for all, who would like to check his/her abilities. You don't need anything special. Of course that, what you've got on yoursefl must be comfortable, becouse you'll have it on youself for long time.
View Points of the 3-cities - part 3
by Landad
Part 3:
Orlowo
Some people like to go on the famous Kliff. It is placed in Gdynia Orlowo, but I don't mean the famous shopping mole ;-))). Get off at Gdynia Orlowo station and walk to the direction to the seaside, which is on your right when going from Gdansk to Gdynia. You will have to walk something like 20 minutes along the asfalt street, or... you can try to take a trolleybus. Unfortunately I don't know which one:-(. Not so far from the station is also a taxi stand. The view is worth of seeing-the sea and the whole coast-summer and winter:-).
There are some tracks that let you go on top and also under the cliff. Just remember that there is no protection from falling down, so don't take children.
Gdynia Kamienna Gora - a hill with family houses (very expensive in the past). I am not from Gdynia and I was there by car, but I heard that there is a bus going. Or use a taxi from the station Gdynia Glowna or even better from the Gdynia Wzgorze Maksymiliana, it should not be expensive.
The hill overlooks the port in Gdynia and the city. Nice view, sometimes a strong wind !!!
