have a nice time in Czestochowa!!!!
I happened to be in Hotel Sonex several times, both for pleasure and business. It is located in a decent area quite close to the center and it's easy to reach it especially for people who are coming to Czestochowa by car from Krakow. They have nice double rooms, single rooms and one (i guess only one) "apartment", basically a big double room divided in two spaces. My stays there have always been pleasant and I feel like recommending the Hotel to everyone...just don't expect anything luxurious!
Check their website for some photos...
The rooms are nicely furnished, although it seems they knew better times. It's not uncommon to see defects and signs of time on a furniture that on a first sight looks new. Anyway, the rooms are clean, not small, quite bright and usually smelling nice. There is satellite tv (with few free channels) and there is also a little welcome chocolate and a small bottle of water everyday for each guest, which is always very welcome ;)
The staff is kind and professional and, as far as I could see, they can speak english :)
In the hall you can find a nice drink bar where the breakfast, in the form of Swedish Buffet, is served. I usually prefer to skip the breakfast: it's usually rather "poor" and not included in the price BUT, connected to the hotel, the is a WONDERFUL and luxurious restaurant (Astoria, if i remember well) where you can have REALLY excellent meals for a decent price (considering the class of the place...), let's say around 100zl per person.
This is a budget hotel. I stayed in a single room, without bathroom. The room was clean and just fine. There was an old radio but sill working.:) There was a sink with a mirror in my room. Brekfast was not included in the prices. The single room without bathroom was 50PLN (about 15$). They offer also rooms with bathroom from 70 PLN for single. Credit cards not accepted.
Ostaniec Hotel is beautifully situated among white rocks near Kroczyce. This is a great starting point to explore Jura. If you like cycling you can hire here a mountain bike and visit the vicinity on your own. The hotel staff organize a lot of other attractions; including rock climbing, hot-air balloon flights, off-road vehicle rides. If you prefer something less extreme there are two tennis courts and of course wonderful nooks in the neighbourhood easily reached on foot.
