I've been there in summer 2005, stayed for few nights. I chose this hotel after long internet searches and comparings. The hotel is situated in less then 10 min walk from railway station, right in the city center and near tram/bus stop. Built in USSR style /pretty usual for me / , it has nice redecoration, rooms are big, light and clean, bathrooms are awesome with all nessesary supplements /despite in booklet is wroten the hotel has only 2 stars/. Breackfast - smorgasbord, large selection of hot and cold food.

The hotel is centrally located on Korfantego, just a 10 minute walk from the train/bus stations.
308 rooms, all en-suite. The hotel offers reduced rates on Fridays and Saturdays.
Reception staff are very helpful and speak English if required. Train arrivals and departures notice boards are in reception, which is very useful.
Breakfast is buffet style and there is a night club in the basement which does not affect the hotel in any way.

This centrally located hotel is fairly good value for money. There are a variety of room types; single, double, twin, triple and suites. Parking is available for guests and there is also a shop, bar and night-club.

the hotel has a salon, a small shop, restuarant, and a night club. the rooms are spread over 10 floors i was on the 8 floor and had great views across the city. Theme: HotelComparison: about average

Small, dark rooms, last decorated in the 70's, with no a/c or fridge. The bathrooms seem to have been refurbished (at least mine was).
Breakfast was sparse. The hotel is cheap, though, and quite central. Everything in Katowice is walking distance.
