    We stayed 5 nights in the Bed and Breakfast accomodation which we had booked in advance through their website. The booking by e-mail was very easy and the host replied quite quickly.

    The Bed and Breakfast accomodation is located in a flat of an early 20th century building. The flat consists of 5 rooms, a large fully equipped kitchen and a shared bath. The owners live somehwere else. As we visited Poznan over Easter we were the only people staying in the flat.

    Usually the price of 80 Zloty per person in a double room includes breakfast, but on arrival the host offered us a deduction of 10 Zloty if we made our own breakfast. We agreed on this and bought our own things in the nearby large supermarket.

    Besides two beds our large room also included a table with chairs, a sofa, a TV and even a small balcony. I must admit that not everything was completly dust-free, but the accomodation was totally fine for us and a good value for the money. Please note that room prices are higher during fairs.

  • Directions: The Bed and Breakfast is located near the western entrance of the Poznan Fair, just opposite to the Park Wilsona. Many buses and trams can be caught on both ul. Glogowska and ul. Grunwaldzka. A walk to the Old Market Square will take about 20 minutes.

    Just after we visited Poznan, I also sent my parents for a few days to this lovely city. I did some reserach for hotels for them and finally chose the Novotel Poznan Centrum due to its excellent central location and an incredible good deal.

    I booked the hotel through http://www.booking.com/ where a double room including breakfast was only about 41 Euro.

    This was the best available deal. Usually the rooms are much more expensive and don't include breakfast, which then costs an extra of about 15 Euro. The hotel has about 450 rooms, all of which are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities.

    My parents were more than happy with the place, especially with the the buffet style breakfast and the central location.

    Directions:
    The Novotel Poznan Centrum is situated near the southern end of the pedestrianised shopping street ul. Polwiejska. The tram stop "Dworzec PKS" for the central bus station is only about 200 m from the hotel. The shopping mall Stary Browar is located just behind the hotel. A walk to the Old Market Square (Stary Rynek) takes about 15 minutes.

    Youth hostel Hanka is situated in suburb Strzeszyn-Poznan. Surroundings of hostel look like village, surrounded by forests. Building of hostel was built in 1918.

    Hostel has good, more or less comfortable rooms with toilet and shower.
    Service is also good, english speaking staff.

    Kitchen: very good breakfast :)
    Clubroom
    Internet
    TV-Sat
    Bar room
    Library of tourist books

    Bus-station is situated just near the hostel.

    Hotel Perkoz is one part of rest centre in a small village Blazejewko. Centre has two hotels (Perkoz, Mercure), eating house, club.
    Hotel locates on bank of lake Bninskie. Hotel is very simple, looks more like a hostel. Probably funktionally it is youth hostel. Often it (and the centre) accomodates groups of youth, football teams etc. Hotel/hostel is clean and simple, no any luxury.
    From western side of the hotel opens beautiful view on the lake.

    There are rooms with 2 and 3 beds.
    Each room has balcony and a shower.

    The Hotel Tango named after the famous dance is an out of town hotel 15 minutes walk from the Poznan Airport. Being out of town the hotel comes at a reasonable price compared to hotels closer to the town centre. The staff are very friendly and the hotel gives the appearance of a small family run hotel but it is actually owned by Start. I had a single room at the back and it came with the usual en-suite. The floors were laminated with a rug and the room newly decorated and clean. There were small finishing touches such liquid dove soap, bottled water, a clothes brush, shoe brush and a comfortable armchair. There is a frequent bus service ending at the Baltyk stop which is close to the centre of town. There is a bar in the hotel which sells small snacks, but you have to walk for 10 minutes to the end of the road to find a take away as the hotel restaurant only opens for special occasions. On the minus side the walls are paper thin and you can be disturbed by noisy guests, the breakfast can also be boring with the same meats, cheese and garnish every day.

  • Directions: Walk from the front of the airport to the main road. Cross over and take a side road. At the end of the side road turn right. You should now be walking along Zlotowska. After a few minutes you should reach the hotel which is on the right side of the road.

    Double room costs US$85-105, but as with all hotels in Poznan, rates increase during International Trade Fairs.

    Although right in the centre of Poznan, the hotel is surrounded by a park, and the restaurant looks like a lush tropical garden.

    In a beautifully restored 19th century neo-Gothic palace, the Palace of Krzeslice is now a unique hotel and restaurant, set in the Zielonka Forest, just a short ride outside Poznan.

    It has 19 bedrooms of extremely high standard, and the many hotel facilities include sauna and fitness rooms, tennis courts, archery, fishing, paint-ball, horse-riding, conference centre, chamber and folk music concerts, and a 60 seater restaurant serving European and Old Polish cuisine.

    SSM Poznan is in the North-West suburbs of the city. It has a delightful location at the end of a leafy, tree-lined avenue. From the front it looks like a small single story building but when you enter, you discover it is a large L-shaped building with a basement too.

    We stayed for one night and the hostel was almost empty with just 3 other groups that evening. All of them were friendly and we exchanged stories about our travels.

    The rooms are very well equipped. They have shower & WC en suite and my room even had a TV! The owner even provided towells for us during the stay. The self-catering kitchen was well equipped with pots pans etc and the fridge freezer was large. Only two small gas rings were available to cook on.

    The lounge area was very cosy and had a (conversation killing) TV if you really needed it!

    The best bit about this hostel was it's tranquil setting. There was a small store just 2 mins down the street which was handy. Everything was clean and the Manager was very friendly and welcoming.

    For anyone travelling on a budget, I would recommend this place. Our family of 7 stayed there for just 270 Zl.

    The Polonez is another in the Orbis chain that looks like a communist relic with unlrealised potential.... cost me $48 in September.

    Rooms are spacious, mine even had a sofa. Tip: when I booked double rooms were the same price as a single, and having peeked at a single I would reccomend the double.

    Serious flaw - no a/c (room was hot !) and no minibar. Nice new shower but no bathtub. They claim to have 'idea' WiFi access (have to buy scratchcards at 19zl/2hrs) in rooms but in practice you have to go down to the reception. There is also a PC there with free internet access - which was not working throughout my 3 day stay...

    On most Polonez deals b/f is not included. It is available at 30 zl, cannot comment as I never tried.

    Polonez is a little way out of town (about 10-15 mins walk), and unfortunately could not find any easy public transport connections.

    Nice view of the city from my room (11th floor).

    Hotel Lech is very good located in between the railway station and the Old Town Square, around 15 minutes walk either way. It is situated alongside the main street Sw. Marcin but it is not disturbing, the hotel is well isolated.
    There are no refridgerators or coffee/tea making facilities in rooms for them wanting to make their own breakfast.
    If you produce your room key you will get 20% reduction on meals in the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner.

    There are tram stops right outside the hotel.
