Where to stay in Algarve?

I am travelling to Algarve next Easter, but I don´t know in which town I should book my accomodation. I´d like to find a place with nice beaches and with good connections in case I want to drive and make routes around the area someday. Any idea?

I would choose Albufeira or Lagos.

hello.
My tip to you is the following, Jardim do Vau in the town place Praia do Vau. Also, Alpinus in the city of Praia da Falesia.

i would opt for tavira in the eastern part of the algarve.
i lived in the algarve for a year and a half a few years ago and found that eastern algarve tend to be a bit warmer in the spring and in the fall.
and tavira is a very charming town aswell.
Travel Tips for Albufeira
Praia do Evaristo

The main beach at Albufeira is nice... but if you can get in a car, there are very nice secluded, beautiful beaches to the west of the city. Praia do Evaristo is one of them. It also has an excellent restaurant - no menu, it's that fresh (reserve if you will be there on a weekend! otherwise, you can eat at your seat on the beach from the food at the snack bar). You will not be disappointed if you try one of these many small secluded (well, almost secluded, you're there right) beaches.
Marihna Beach

Driving between Portimao and Albufeira you can visit some lovely beaches.
When we stopped in Carvoeiro, at the tourist office (that was open on a Sunday) they suggested us to visit some places as this beach, even if the photos do not show its beauty as it was afternoon and the sun was making photos a little bit difficult lol it was for me the most impressive.
I suggest to go in the morning for photos :-)
